What do you think?

I do not make anything bigger than a lap quilt. So I bought this quilt cover for our bed as I thought it would look good with the wall quilt. It is creased etc as I may have to repack it depending on what I decide. I found a nice quilt today that is just plain blue similar to the outer two strips which I like but is maybe a bit boring.
I think it looks good with the quilt above the bed.

However it looks awful with the cushions I made! My hubby tells me it doesn't matter cos I can make new ones. What do you think? Sounds like a good excuse to makes some more to me.

Who knows one day I may make a big quilt for the bed!
Not much sewing today as shopping instead.

  1. I really Like the stripes on the one you're showing. I think you can make new matching cushions. Or you could get the solid cover and make a nice matching lap quilt to fold at the end of the bed. That's what I do with most of my quilts - solid spreads with quilts I can change. Either way, it sounds like you're going to have to keep sewing :)

  2. I like the striped spread with the quilt you have shown. They compliment each other well. But I was wondering if the spread should have a bit lavender or light purple as well as the blues. The blues in the cushions aren't the same as in the spread but the go well with the quilt. Take some scraps of your fabrics with you to the store should you decide to exchange the spread. Or you could make new cushions to match the spread. But I think Cindy (above) has the best suggestion, a plain spread with another quilt or a bed runner at the end of the bed. Looks like there is more sewing coming up.

Have a super great sewing and shopping day.
