June OMG

Hopefully will get more sewing time this month. I want to quilt this Austin Modern Quilt from May last year. I have bought the backing fabric last year in anticipation of quilting it a lot sooner.

I love this quilt. I picked the colours based on Eden by Tula Pink.

OMG May

OMG for One Monthly Goal or Oh My God how much can it rain in one weekend! The photos are not the best and the colours look a lot darker than they are. The orange looks very red but everyone knows what  Carolyn Friedlander fabric looks like so probably doesn't matter. I will take more photos on a sunny day.

I took a photo outside to see if it was better and it wasn't which is not surprising as the reason we bought this house was how open and light it is. We moved here in September last year so have enjoyed spring, summer and autumn and are looking forward to winter (as much as you can look forward to winter).

mini

I finished my pineapple mini and it is gorgeous. When I make a mini from fabrics I used in a quilt I like to back it with same fabric as the quilt. This is made with some of the fabric and the backing from this quilt. 

One Monthly Goal

Things have been a little busy and I did not post a monthly goal for April. I have to finish this quilt in May. It is my friends birthday on the 8th of May so I am going to be a little late but if it is finished in her birthday month I will be happy.
 So my OMG for May is to quilt and bind this layer cake pop quilt.

New Fabric

The backing fabric has arrived and it is great. Even though the background is cream, the colours are great and I love the design. If I am paying for shipping  I like to order more fabric. I don't have a lot of low volume so I ordered Blueberry Park low volume jelly roll, I bought 2 jolly bars of zen chic so I can make the pattern that comes with the jolly bar and a mini charm pack of modern lustre. I am very happy with my choices!

All done and looks good. I have ordered a wide back online and hopefully the colours will work. I don't usually like to use white for background as threads show but my friend loves white background fabric in quilts. I have started trimming threads so will be ready to go as soon as the fabric arrives.

Purple Pineapple

Finally sewing. I spent last week in Perth and now I am home and doing some sewing! Even though Psych has finished for ever, I still have a thing for pineapples. I have loved this mini for a while but not a big yellow fan so decided on a purple pineapple. Mix that with Kate Spain and you have a winner
